Welcome: Our Heritage
“Celebrating 100 Years of Care and Service”
The Towne House is a not-for-profit community owned and operated
by BHI Retirement Communities. Founded in 1965 on the moral
principles of the American Baptist denomination, The Towne House
derived its strong commitment to caring, quality, and integrity
from this religious heritage. The Towne House, however, welcomes
residents on a strictly non-denominational basis.
BHI’s history dates back to 1904 when it began
providing care and service for orphaned children. Today BHI owns and operates two other continuing care retirement communities:
Hoosier Village (on the site of the original orphanage) in Indianapolis,
Indiana, and Four Seasons in Columbus, Indiana.
